Reiki gives a feeling similar to having a massage and amazingly with little to no touch! Reiki is a vibration, or subtle energy therapy used to balance the biofield and strengthen  the body's ability to heal itself.

What is Reiki?
Reiki is an energy technique used for stress reduction, and relaxation that facilitates healing. It is based on the fact that all living things have a special energy flowing through them called "life force energy." Simply put, Rei describes the universal aspect of energy, and Ki stands for the vital life force in all things. Ki is also known as "chi" in Chinese, or "prana" in Sanskirt. 

The National Center for Complementary and Alternative Medicine classifies Reiki as a "Biofield Medicine, which involves systems that use subtle energy fields in and around the body for medical purposes."

How should I dress?
Come as you are! There are no requirements for clothing and you will only be asked to remove your shoes. Then you will relax on a massage table where blankets are provided. Pillows are also available if needed.
 

What can I expect to feel from my Reiki Treatment?
Every Reiki treatment is unique to every individual. It is a very relaxing experience and clients report the body feeling light or heavy as it releases tension. A treatment will release negative feelings and thoughts, leaving the client feeling more positive, and the spirit lifted. You will leave feeling very peaceful and this amazing feeling can last up to three days!

How does Reiki work?
A Reiki Treatment is a way to increase your life energy. When our "life force energy" is low, then we are more likely to get sick and feel the effects of stress. When our energy is high, we are more capable of being happy, healthy, and our body functions properly. A practitioner transmits Reiki, "spiritually guided life force energy" to the client through the hands. The hands are lightly placed on or near the body in various positions.

Our life force energy is responsive to thoughts and feelings. Aside from injury, another way we develop blocks or disruption in our natural flow of energy is when we accept negative thoughts or feelings about ourselves either consciously or unconsciously. Over time this disruption in the flow  of energy will diminish the vital function of the organs and cells in the physical body.

As stated by author, William Rand "Reiki is a simple, natural and safe method of spiritual healing and self-improvement that everyone can use and always creates a beneficial effect". It also works in conjunction with all other medical or therapeutic techniques to relieve side effects while promoting a speedy recovery.

What can be treated with Reiki?
Reiki can only have positive effects on all forms of illness and negative conditions. It will promote healing due to side effects of medical treatments making it an excellent ally. This healing therapy has been confirmed by medical testing. Always, follow the advice of your doctor and remember, Reiki works in conjunction with your existing medical treatment.

Is Reiki a religion?
Although it is spiritual in nature it is not religious. No one is asked to change any spiritual or religious beliefs they may have. They are however, encouraged to continue believing anything they choose about the nature of their religious practices. While some believe Reiki brings them closer to God, Higher Power, or Holy Spirit, what ever you choose to think, Reiki is a simple healing technique of which All denominations find beneficial.

What should I do after a treatment?
After a treatment your body is releasing the toxins that built up due the disruption in the flow of vital life force energy, so drinking water is an excellent way to help your liver and kidneys filter and remove them from your body.

It is not necessary for you to do anything after Reiki except to enjoy your day! If you have the time you could take a soothing bath. Adding sea salt or Epsom salt will increase the body's natural detoxing process, as the salt draws toxins out through the skin. Helping your body to cleanse is a way for you to enhance your healing process, be sure to drink plenty of pure water.

Anyone and Everyone! The ability to use Reiki  a simple technique to acquire. It doesn't take years of practice, in fact, you easily begin using Reiki in your first class!

Reiki Course Descriptions


Reiki I 
In this 5 to 6 hour class you will learn the origin of Usui Reiki, how it works, and what it can treat. You will leave with a basic understanding of your chakras and will receive the Reiki level I attunement/initiation. You will learn the importance of self healing and activate Reiki energy for the first time as a self healing treatment! You will also receive a full Reiki treatment and experience yourself as a channel for this amazing energy! Upon completion you will receive Certification for 1st degree Reiki.

Fee: $175 fee includes manual, lunch and snacks.
Prerequisite: None; available to Everyone

Reiki I Refresher
For those previously attuned but haven't used Reiki in so long they feel they need help to "re-connect"; this may be the perfect fit! In this two hour course you have a first degree booster attunement. We will cover all of the material for Level one and answer any questions that you may have. This course is completely customized to fit your needs, so let us know where you are at.

Fee: $44 ($15 extra for our manual, if desired)
Prerequisite: must have Reiki I certification

Reiki II
Reiki II is for those who wish to continue this journey and raise their energy vibration to the next level while deepening their intuition and creative skills. This 5 hour class expands from level I as you discover the three special symbols and mantras. One is for empowerment, the 2nd is for emotional and physical healing, and the third has a distance healing component. You will learn how and when to properly use these sacred symbols. After receiving your Level II initiation you will be ready to practice absent healing! You will be able to perform a practice treatment on another student to experience your newly heightened energy. Upon completion you will receive Certification for 2nd degree Reiki.

Fee: $175 fee includes manual, lunch and snacks.
Prerequisite: Must have Reiki I certification

Reiki III or Master Level
The Master Level is for those who wish to increase their energy and continue the tradition by taking the responsibility of training others. With this in-depth class you will receive new healing symbols as well as the third Level attunement and initiation. We will review teaching materials and the basics for setting up your healing practice. You will learn how to give an attunement and practice one as well. Upon completion you will receive Certification for Reiki level III Master.
 
Fee: $495 fee includes manual, CD, lunch and snacks.
Prerequisite: Must have Reiki I and Reiki II certification


Your training doesn't have to stop after class is over!
We hold free Reiki Shares for all students and practitioners from any lineage to experience Reiki in a practical setting - Great for sharing experiences and asking questions. You are also encouraged to keep in touch with Katherine, asking questions as they arise or come back and sit in a repeat class!
